Private Health sector Project is a USAID funded five year project implemented by Abt Associates Inc . the project has a goal to mitigate the impact of diseases of public health importance in Ethiopia through the active engagement of the private health sector. The major objectives of the Private Health Sector Project are creating an enabling policy environment, access to quality health services for diseases of public health importance increased through the private health sector, strengthening the private health care system, and generating evidence. The goal and objectives will be achieved in collaboration with the government (FMoH and its agencies, the private health sector and its associations). The project operates in Amhara, Afar, Benshangul Gumuz, Harari, Gambela, Oromiya, SNNPR, and Tigrai regions, and Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa city administrations. The public health importance programs include PPM-DOTS, Comprehensive HIV/AIDS including HCT, ART and PMTCT; MNCH, Family Planning, STI and Malaria services.
