Inaugurated in 2001 and licensed by the National Council for Higher Education in March 2005, under Licence No. UI.PL.003. Kabale University (KAB) has enjoyed steady growth and progress. KAB Main Campus is located on Kikungiri Hill, one kilometer off Kabale-Kigali Highway in Kabale Municipality. Mandated to bridge a highly felt gap in South Western Uganda and the surrounding areas of the Great Lakes Region, KAB offers a serene reflective environment which is enhanced by the cool all-year-round energizing climate.

The general uniqueness and added value of Kabale University is in its identity of a secular, community founded and supported University.
