BIPAI Tanzania is focused on supporting its efforts to improvement of pediatric health care and treatment in HIV and AIDS as well as build health workers capacity in the provision of pediatrics care and treatment in Tanzania since 2008.Working with Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW), Baylor Tanzania is implementing critical initiatives aimed at eliminating HIV infections in children and supporting HIV positive children and their families through its two Centers of Excellence (COE) operating in Mwanza and Mbeya.  These two centers are critical for the provision of HIV care, treatment and training in the Lake Zone and Southern Highland population. BIPAI Tanzania collaborates with Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and Local Government Authorities, Bugando Medical Centre Referral hospital and Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital to increase access to comprehensive, high quality, integrated HIV prevention, care and treatment services in the Lake Zone and Southern Highlands.

Overlooking Lake Victoria, the Mwanza center of excellence (COE) works closely with and is located across the street from Bugando Medical Center, a referral hospital for the  – Lake Zone. The Mbeya COE is affiliated with the Mbeya Referral Hospital, in the Southern Highlands Zone near the border with Malawi.
