Company Description:

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania constructed from its own funds a water supply scheme from the Lake Victoria to Shinyanga and Kahama towns passing through 54 villages lying within 5km from the main transmission pipeline in Misungwi, Kwimba, Kahama and Shinyanga Districts. The Project is estimated to cost Tanzanian Shillings 254 billion (equivalent to more than USD 200 million) and it was designed initially to serve a population of 450,000 people and later on to 1,000,000 people by the year 2025. 

A feasibility study and design of the project started in April 2003 and construction works commenced in March, 2004. The project was substantially completed in December 2008 and officially inaugurated on 30th May, 2009 by His Excellence Jakaya M. Kikwete; the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
