Company Description:

In Botswana there is need for a comprehensive policy on Local Economic Development (LED) which will encourage partnerships between authorities, businesses and the community at local level, primarily to create better conditions for their economic growth and employment creation.

With support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Department of Local Government Development Planning in the Ministry of Local Government intends to implement this noble idea. The focus of LED is to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth as well as enhancing competitiveness of a district, town or local community. The process incorporates various local government and private sector functions such as environmental planning, infrastructure provision, finance and real estate development.
